Nevada

What a restful time we had in Sparks, NV.  We got into the Marina RV park after dusk.  We were checked in and a guy on a golf cart took us to our site.

My friend, Pat, brought us over two big jars of homemade soup, (as soon as we arrived and got set up)  Two different kinds of soup, plus rolls.  Also, she made a quiche for our breakfast the next  morning.  She said that she didn't want me to have to cook for awhile!

What a thoughtful thing to do!!!  That was such a blessing!!

The next morning, she came back and picked me up and took me to her home so we could visit and PLAY all day!!  She had invited some other gals that make cards, as well, and one I hadn't seen in years and years.  What a great day of visiting!!!

They hadn't heard of an Eclipse Card, so Pam took me back to the RV (which was only about a mile away) and I got the stuff for each of us to make one.  Pat supplied the cardstock.  Oh what fun!!!

David had things he had to get done, so he opted to stay back at the RV park.  Well, actually, he got the truck serviced while I was gone.

The RV park was very clean and nice and landscaped but it was kind of tight quarters.  We had to park our truck in the visitor parking because the guy next to us had a toad....and it was too close to our site and hard to get in and out.  The next day he left, so we had room to park our truck next to our 5th wheel.

We didn't use any of their amenities.....but I did go use their restroom while David was setting up the 5th wheel, the first night, and it was immaculate!!!  I peeked into the laundromat and it looked very clean, as well.  Wi fi and TV worked great!

We took off, on Saturday morning, and decided not to try to push it so hard.  We drove from Sparks, NV to Hawthorne, NV.  It's only about a 2 1/2 hour drive but with a stop for diesel (waiting for a dork at a gas station) and just taking it easy...it was probably more like 3 1/2.

Along the way,  on I 80, we saw some gorgeous scenery.  My phone just didn't catch the absolute gorgeous colors of the trees along the river.

And, below was a not so wonderful sight!  This DORK actually parked his truck and trailer at the pumps and left to go in and gamble.  We waited and waited, thinking he was inside paying for his gas.  After about 5 minutes...we noticed that his tanks weren't even on the side the pumps were on....and the traffic was backing up behind us, I went in to inquire and the lady said no one had paid on pump 13 and that he was probably in the casino.  She made an announcement over the loud speaker.  I went back out and waited and he still did not show up.  Finally, I went in again, since there were about 3 other vehicles behind us and it was causing a traffic problem.  When I came back out,  he had just gotten into his truck and sped off....not even an apology to those waiting...for taking up space.  Who does this??  It takes all kinds!!
We got fueled up and drove on down to Hawthorne, NV.  We had decided earlier that we were not going to make a full day of it but stop and just relax for the day.  We decided after we got here to pay for two nights!!

Some people on an RV list we are on told us about this great little RV Park called Whiskey Flats RV Park.  www.whiskeyflats.net.  So, we decided to give it a try.

The mountains are beautiful and the trees are turning beautiful colors.  The sky is clear blue and it's about 74 degrees out.

Here is one right across from our RV.

This is perfect for someone that LOVES fall colors!!!

Until next time!!!

Hugs,
David and Char
