Pahrump, NV

We are now staying in a different location and I will post some photos at a later time.

But first, let me tell you about our two weeks in a town we'd never been to before, Pahrump, NV.

We normally take 95 to Sparks, NV and then go on through Las Vegas and then head to AZ via Boulder City and on into Kingman or head to Yuma.  BUT, this time, we took a different path, turning off 95 and taking Hwy 160 to Pahrump, NV.
I loved the desert and mountains leading all the way into Pahrump.  We had no trouble finding the Escapee Park named Pair A Dice

We arrived on the afternoon of October 30th.  There were no available spaces, so we were allowed to use their boon docking area to set up for the night.  We ended up staying there for two nights and the view was wonderful!

Here’s the tree that we were parked close to.  Very interesting.  Actually, we had a better view of the mountains surrounding the park, in the boon docking area than we did when we finally got parked.

We were told, by some people on a Facebook group we belong to, to go down to the club house around 4pm or so and just walk in…and they would welcome us.  Well, we did that and yes, the group that gathers there for social hour every day at 4pm, does welcome you with open arms!!

We just happened to arrive during the parks ‘homecoming week’ so we were invited to take part in all of their festivities throughout the week which included a Potluck, a Hamburger/hot dog dinner, lasagna dinner and a Sunday breakfast of pancakes and sausage.  What a fun time!  There were also different activities going on that we got involved in.

Each day at 4pm, we went down for the social hour.  The things you can discuss during that time just amazes me 😊 There is always an abundance of laughter!

Upon arriving, we found we had some electrical problems, our step light and jack lights were not working, so someone from the park who is very good at locating the problem, came to our rescue.  He didn’t ‘fix’ anything but just identified where our problems were and helped label all the different switches (which were not done at the Factory) so we could call an Mobile RV unit.

The Mobile RV repair couldn’t come out for a couple of days, but, in that time, we were able to get assigned a spot in the park.

When he RV repair arrived, they were able to fix our problems easily enough, but we also had found a bubble in our hydraulic hose, so they said they would have to have a hose made and would be back on Monday.

Monday, David helped and they spent 6 hours to fix the problem.  They ended up replacing two lengths of hydraulic hoses.

This was a very restful time at Pahrump.  We have only been to town twice since we have been here.  Just no need to go except for groceries or to do errands or something.

Even Annie, was really 'at home' here in Pahrump.  So much so, that the night before heading out, when we were busy cooking, and had to open the door because we forgot to turn the fan on..... she jumped out the open door without being noticed and disappeared for more than 45 minutes.  We STILL have no idea how she managed that, as she has to use a ramp to get in and out of the 5th wheel.   We had finished cooking, sat down to eat our dinner and David all of a sudden said, "Where's the dog?"  We immediately got up and looked through the RV but she definitely was not in here.

So, we started to search for her....and I even went to the neighbor next to us and knocked on her motor home and asked if she could help us look.  She jumped right up and helped us!!

We all went separate ways and Linda found her and brought her back.  My mind took me on so many different avenues in that 30-45 minutes.

Linda Sullivan, THANK YOU again!!!   I was never so happy to see her than I was that night.  She looked at us like, "Wow, I had fun!!"

While we were in Pahrump, this RV pulled in.  We got to meet the couple that lives in this RV and listen to their story of how they acquired it on E Bay!   It had been used as a prop in a show that National Geographic did on Doomsday Preppers.  This is the interview that they did.  Very interesting.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FalmDtdzChQ.

Well, like I said, we are off on another adventure, right now,...making our way across the US.

I'll be posting as we have Wi Fi connections!!  I am always taking photos and keeping notes!!

And, for those that wonder how we are doing .....we are loving the warmer weather as we hear of snow and freezing rain happening up in OR.

IF I don't post before, I just want to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!!!  🦃

We'd love to hear from you!!!
