It's a God Thing, for sure

Hello.....some of you may have been following me on my other blog, http://Pawsn2stamp.blogspot.com and have asked that I do a travel blog.

Some of you know the story or how we became interested in volunteering with VolunteerChristianBuilders.org and that is what we are getting ready to do.

The name of our blog depicts the very thing I said when I had been talking to a friend via e-mail and told her how we had been tossing the idea around for over a year and I was getting so frustrated because we couldn't decide what to do.....sell the house or stay.  We couldn't go do what we wanted if we didn't sell the house but on the other hand, I LOVED my home.  So, one day, I told her "I am so frustrated, with the back and forth, back and forth trying to decide whether to do it or not, I guess someone is just going to have to knock on my door and ask if we want to sell the house and I'll know it's from God"  Well, not even 20 minutes later, the doorbell rang and here was this tall dude and he said he was just in the neighborhood and wanted to know if we or someone else we knew were interested in selling their home. He said he was a realtor. I looked at him shocked and said, "This is a God Thing".  He looked at me strangely and chuckled and then I told him what had just transpired and he said, "Whoa, and I never have done this before, but something just told me to get out and go door to door".

Long story short, we listed the house on February 22, and we told him that we had put a fleece before the Lord, in order to know that this WAS indeed His will.  The stipulations were that we would sell the house for a certain amount (and we knew it was more than the going price at the time) and it would sell by July 25th.  If it didn't go for that price or by that time, we would take it back off the market as it would be our sign from God that it wasn't what He had in mind for us.  He was dubious about the amount and said we would probably have to lower it as things just weren't going that high at the time.  We told him that IF God wanted us to sell, it HE would sell it.

Ten days later, the realtor came back and said we should move our price down 3% and we declined, reminding him of our agreement with the Lord.  If this idea was from Him, it would sell for that price in that time limit.  Our realtor said, 'well, we can always come down, later"  We reminded him, nope....not coming down....if the Lord wants it to sell.....watch it sell for what we have on it.

Well, we got an offer a day later but it was for less than our asking price, so we said no.  But, our realtor suggested to go ahead and ask for our original price plus add the closing costs.  He said he doubted that they would agree, but at least it would show we were interested.  We gave them 3 days to respond.

They accepted the offer the very next day and the wait began.''

While we waited for the inspection, the appraisal and the final OK...we had a Craft Sale and a Garage sale.  We got word on April 12th that it passed the appraisal and we would close on the 17th.

We closed on April 17th and had a huge moving sale the following weekend.

As of Friday April 28th, at 4:50pm, we were officially Nomads :-)  We are staying at our Son's house while he is working in Florida, and waiting for a couple of weeks to catch our breath and then start the journey back to pick up our 5th wheel and then either volunteer or head back to Central OR.

I'll try to keep this blog updated at least once or twice a week unless something really awesome happens.

For now, thanks for stopping by and if you are interested in our journey, sign up to get updates.
