A Memorial to our wonderful Annie!!
I haven't posted since November and some of you know the reason why, but for the rest of you.......
On December 7th, we lost our beautiful Annie. I still have a hard time talking about it, without choking up. She was truly a gift from Heaven to us.
I posted on Facebook but I just couldn't talk about her in person, without crying, and after almost a month, still have a hard time.
But, since she was such a trooper and started the RV life with us at 12 years old and put up with travelling all over the US, I thought she deserved to be honored in a blog post. Please feel free to just move on if you aren't a dog lover, I'll understand.
So here's to one of the best friends we've ever had. I got to thinking that she traveled through 26 states with us during her lifetime of 16 3/4 years. She saw both oceans and walked and peed on a lot of different soil. :-)
Annie as a pup in 2004. She was a Mother's Day gift from our younger Son.
I could never resist those eyes.
She loved licking the last of my yogurt!
Annie on the sofa and her "Dad" Raider, who was visiting us at our home.
Annie, on the left, and her 'Dad' Raider in a tug of war!!
Annie out in the snow in the back yard. She loved the snow!!
The last big snow we had in Central Oregon before we sold our home and bought the RV.
Annie waiting for her favorite Vet at Cinder Rock Veterinary in Redmond, OR. She loved Dr. Karen.
She loved the water balloon fight hubby had with our two granddaughters. They had to prevent her from 'catching' the balloons.
Her favorite stuffed animal, a Pink Pig. It went everywhere with her.
When we first began RVing in 2017. She was still energetic and loved jumping up and laying on the sofa and that was where she slept.
Or on her dog bed next to the fireplace.
She even loved getting in and 'helping' Dad do whatever project he was working on.
When we first started RVing, she had an arsenal of toys she slept with and then she got to where she didn't want to sleep on a dog bed, anymore...but preferred sleeping on the floor on some blankets.
After she got older, she didn't show any interest in any of her huge laundry basket of toys...and only wanted her Pink Pig. She slept with it all the time.
On the Straits of Juan de Fuca at a RV park we worked at at Crescent Beach near Port Angeles the summer of 2018.
Our last Christmas together at Columbia RV park in Woodland, WA. in 2018.
Her new raincoat we got her when she realized she didn't like RAIN!! She had been raised in Central OR and we didn't have that much rain. She didn't like her new coat!! But, it kept her from getting soaked as the dog area was a long ways from our RV.
She even liked to snooze in Mom's chair in the RV, up till she wasn't able to jump up anymore.
At Dworshak Dam for the Summer of 2019. Little did we know, then, this would be her last Workamping job or ours.
Her new dog bowls and stand.
Still enjoying her yogurt!!
She loved her walks with her 'Dad'.
Reading Dad's instant pot book :-)
She had an episode while we were up at Dworshak Dam and we almost lost her. Thank God, it happened while we were there with her. We rushed her to the Vet and she pulled her through but told us she wouldn't have long, maybe weeks at the most. Our Annie made it for 6 more months.....I don't think she wanted to leave us anymore than we wanted her to. We took turns staying at the RV with her on the days we worked at the Dam....and we were so blessed that the Rangers at Dworshak, allowed us to do that. Most all of them had dogs, so they were very understanding. We will be forever grateful to them!!
One of the last photos I took of our awesome Annie Girl, the last of November. She loved laying on a pile of blankets rather than a brand new bed we got from Barker.com. It was one of the best dog beds ever....but she preferred her blankets, I guess. It will be donated to a dog shelter in Annie's name.
Flowers we received from Chewy.com when they had learned of her passing. I was beyond shocked that they would do this. We bought her dog food and other essentials from them, as we knew that they would deliver it where ever we happened to be staying and I wrote to tell them that we would no longer need them shipped to us. Awesome company!!!
A few days later, I got a bouquet from BigBarker.com, the people we had bought her bed from. Even though they knew that she wouldn't use her bed and we were planning on donating it, they still did this.
I was totally shocked that they truly care about their customers that they would send flowers.
If you made it this far, thank you for letting me share a teeny bit of Annie's life and how she was such a HUGE part of ours. We still miss her terribly and are having a hard time getting used to not having her with us. We still think we need to get back to the RV, when we are outside....to check on Annie. Everything reminds us of Annie. She went everywhere with us.....in the truck and in the RV.
Thank you, Annie, for being the BEST Dog ever and bringing us so much happiness and joy to our lives. We will never ever forget you and all the wonderful memories we shared together.
Till we meet again!!! Love you baby girl!!!

Annie in our new house in 2006. She was two years old. Over time, her ear didn't stick up like that...but it was always so cute early on.
