Getting down to the wire

Well, it's been a busy week.  We got our Tonneau cover for our truck and will be getting our Nerf bars put on, this  coming Monday.   Sorry for no photo, I am still figuring out G mail.  I'll get it .....after I have some time to myself. :-)

AND, surprise, surprise......we are having yet another yard sale, this weekend!  Gotta get rid of more stuff as the storage shed is plum FULL!!!!  We'll be having it at our youngest Son's house and he is also going to get rid of a bunch of stuff.

It's been typical yard sale weather, at least it always seems that way when we have one.  It's been showering off and on all day and windy.  And, the weather forecast says we may have more for the weekend.  Bah Humbug.  But, it is what it is!!  Right?

Then, Sunday, our last time at our church till we get back to OR.  I'll miss that church.....but the great thing is that the Pastor's messages are on the HBC website and we can listen to them!!!  Very uplifting and always speaks to our hearts!

Looking forward to finally getting on the road and being able to post something FUN!!!  And, getting to work with other VCBers.

This morning, we met with a friend, for coffee and filled her in on our journey!  Great to catch up on our lives.

A Memorial to our wonderful Annie!!

I haven't posted since November and some of you know the reason why, but for the rest of you....... On December 7th, we lost our beautiful Annie.  I still have a hard time talking about it, without choking up.  She was truly a gift from Heaven to us. I posted on Facebook but I just couldn't talk about her in person, without crying, and after almost a month, still have a hard time. But, since she was such a trooper and started the RV life with us at 12 years old and put up with travelling all over the US,  I thought she deserved to be honored in a blog post.   Please feel free to just move on if you aren't a dog lover, I'll understand. So here's to one of the best friends we've ever had.   I got to thinking that she traveled through 26 states with us during her lifetime of 16 3/4 years. She saw both oceans and walked and peed on a lot of different soil.  :-)     Annie as a pup in 2004.  She was a Mother's Day gift from our younger Son.

Crockett, Texas "Paradise in the Pines"

Crockett is about 40 miles from where we are staying at our current volunteer job with VCB.  We had gone there once to pick up a prescription and get a few groceries but didn't venture down to the actual town. I always have to look up the history of the town or what it’s known for or how it got it’s name….and of course things to do and see there.  Here is what I found: The town was named after David  Crockett  who reportedly had camped nearby on his way to the Alamo; the site was very near the Old San Antonio Road. A family from Tennessee donated the land for the town and named it after  Crockett , whom they had previously known. We, also pass through Groveton, on our way to Crockett to get groceries.  A week or two ago, on our way to Crockett, we passed a field where they had some guys in civil war uniforms.    We didn’t know what was going on till we got home and I Googled it….and found out they were enacting the battle of blackjack grove.  If we had known about it,

Weird Post

Hi Everyone, I got a post today, sent to my Travel Blog that was sent out a couple of years ago to my Stamping blog.  I have no idea how that got sent, although I got it in my inbox and another person told me that they received it. I was updating both blogs, the other day, but I didn't send this blog from my Stamping blog from past June, to my Travel blog today. So, if you received it, I apologize but it didn't come from me.  It WAS a blog I had sent way back before we started RVing but am not sure how it got sent again and to a different blog.
