Still waiting......but it's all good!!

Well, we are still waiting for our RV.  We were told, the other day, that it might be the first week of August, now.  That would be wonderful!!!

We understand that they are a small company and we'll take quality over getting it super quick!  They have had some delays and are working hard at getting caught up, but they will not compromise quality just to get something done faster.

We have spoken to a lot of people that have either bought one of these RV's or people that are currently waiting for theirs and they still maintain even with the longer wait, they would much rather buy from The RV Factory and know that they take their time putting units out, than a manufacturer that puts out thousands a week.

We just talked to a guy here in the park, at lunch, one day, who is currently broke down because of a big manufacturer that will not take the responsibility for the problem on their motor home but blames it on one of their vendors.  And, it has to do with the hydraulics, so it's not like it's a little thing he can keep on going down the road.  And, we have done research and know that this company has a lot of recalls.  I feel for the guy.

Anyway, after the salad lunch, they set up a big Jenga game and one of my Mother In Law's friends, Lori, played with a few other people, including two of the staff, and we just had to stay and watch.  I got a photo of her playing.

It was really interesting as they got it down to where it was teetering in a lot of places and only had one or two blocks on several levels.  Boy, when they finally fell....they went all over the place :-)

We take Annie over to the dog park several times a day and are very thankful that it's so close for us, just across the street from where we are staying. This way, she can get over there and back without being in the heat too long.

I can see the park from the little window by the dining room table and it's fun to watch the dogs bound around the park.  Of course, it's normally early morning and early evening :-)

Anyway, we had a little excitement over at the park the other day.

I just happened to be at the table, early morning, when I saw three people standing around inspecting something.  Then, all of a sudden, here came a golf cart and the guy got out with a big stick type thing and a bucket.  I watched as he held up a snake....and then put it in the bucket.  I stepped out on the enclosed porch and yelled to the lady in the golf cart if they had found a rattle snake and she said, "Yes".    Oh I am so glad we hadn't taken Annie over there at that time.  I wish I had taken a photo when he lifted it up....but I was still inside and couldn't get out there in time.

Another thing I enjoy doing is sitting at the table looking out at the Hills.  They are called the Gila Mountains.

The highest peak in the arid and rugged Gila Mountains is Sheep Peak at 3,156 feet (962 m). The mountain range lies east of Yuma and the community of Fortuna Foothills lies on the northwest mountain range foothills, (named for the Fortuna Mine).

It is so pretty to watch the sunrise in the morning.  I noticed that it gets darker, earlier here and lighter later in the mornings.  Not used to it getting dark a little after 8pm in the summer months.

We are discussing our route options, at the moment.  We are thinking we'll wait for our mail to be forwarded here on Monday or Tuesday and then we'll probably start the trek back to OH/IN, so when they give us the word to come and pick up our RV, we'll be nearby.

We were feeling really bummed because of the added delay of our 5th wheel, but we are very thankful that it happened when it did, as we were able to make the trip back to AZ and David was able to see his Mom and talk with her before she passed away and we were also fortunate to be able to stay in his Mom's park model in the RV resort.

AND, we have noticed that although other parts of AZ have gotten a lot of storms, rain, wind.....the little corner where Fortuna Hills lies....hasn't gotten anything, except heat.  :-)  I like to believe that it's a God thing!!!  When we say how hot it is, everyone keeps telling us...ITS A DRY HEAT!!  :-)   Ok, it's dry....but it's still HOT!  We aren't used to 107-119 heat day after day after day.  And, the forecast says it's going to be even hotter in August.

We've missed out on our Volunteer opportunity for WI but we are hoping we can join the VCBrs in MI before we have to head back to OR.  It's in God's hands, so I guess He'll work it out if that is His plan.  :-)

We definitely don't want to be in Central OR during the eclipse so it will probably be late August....or within 30 days of picking up our RV, as we have to take it to the DMV in OR, to show them the vin number on our rig so we can get license plates and registration.

I'd love to hear from you and let me know what's going on in your lives :-)

Hope you all have a great day!!!
