Traveling back to Ohio, again :-)

After being in Yuma for 3 weeks, we left to head back to Ohio on July 25th.  We were waiting for our mail to be forwarded from OR and when it arrived.....we cleaned up the trailer, packed our truck and headed out about 2pm. We were anxious to get back closer to where our 5th wheel was being made.

We drove towards Tucson, and one of the rest stops we stopped at in Willcox, AZ, had such cool rock formations along the highway and then into the rest area.  They were really awesome!  I guess you have to be a rock lover to appreciate them :-)

We stopped for the night in Marana, AZ in the Saguaro National forest,  just outside of Tucson, AZ.  Nice motel....they even had a rainfall shower head!!  I could have stayed in there for hours.

Just thought you'd like to know, in case you ever stop at the LaQuinta Inn there.  It's the 'little' things things that really make my day!

Then, it was onward to New Mexico.  We had originally planned on driving all the way down to Tucson and into TX so that we could go right along the Mexican border, but we changed our minds and headed north.

Going through Tucson........................and on up into New Mexico....we arrived in Albuquerque late that afternoon.  I noticed that there were a lot of menacing looking clouds, but kept asking the Lord to get us to Albuquerque safe with no huge storms.

We spent the night in Albuquerque, NM.  About 11:30 pm, we were awakened by a horrific loud cracking sound and a bright light that lit up the entire room.  It was a thunder/lightning storm.  It had to have hit really close.  It lasted most of the night but then moved eastward.

The next morning, after getting a quick breakfast at Denny's, (and by the way, the servers were all men and they were very good!!!), we drove through the rest of New Mexico and into Oklahoma.

We stopped for the night in Elk City, OK.  What a cute town!  Wish we hadn't been so tired, we would have investigated it a little more.  I wish I had taken some photos in that cute little city, but the bad part of traveling hard with a destination in mind is that you don't take the time to get many photos except from the window of the truck!

When we were watching TV, that night, we heard that a town, we had driven through a couple of hours earlier, had up to 60 mph winds and it blew off a roof of a home.  So glad we missed that storm :-)

On Friday, we drove the rest of the way through Oklahoma and into MO.

This last night, we stopped in Springfield, MO!  The skies were blue with big fluffy white clouds in the sky and we knew that tomorrow night, Lord willing, we'd be at our destination.

We got here safe and sound on July 29th in the evening.  So happy to be much closer to getting our 5th wheel......

I just want to thank our awesome friends, Rita and Floyd Holmes, who are going above and beyond in supporting us in our adventure.  They are being so understanding and gracious, knowing that when we asked if we could visit a couple of weeks, while we waited for our 5th wheel to be finished, that we had NO IDEA that it would end up being much, much longer!   In fact, it's been at least a month longer at this point.  We will forever be grateful for their generosity is allowing us to stay here!!

More updates to follow.......and I promise it won't be state welcome signs...LOL

Have a fantastic day!!!
