Catching up!!
We spent a few weeks up in WA and visited with our Granddaughter and our friends.
We stayed on a dairy farm next door to some of our friends who snowbird in the winter months and live on a dairy farm in the summer.
This was an almost daily scene. I got to see 5 calves after they were born. This little guy let me get pretty close for a photo :-)
We take our granddaughter, every year, to The Patch in Woodland, WA. It's a yearly tradition. She gets a huge kick out of getting to choose her own pumpkin. We tell her she can have any pumpkin she can actually carry out of the pumpkin patch. They have some HUGE pumpkins there.
Then we spend time looking at the different pumpkins (they have 60 varieties), squash and different other things they have for sale.
I got some little pumpkins, dried corn and other items to make a little centerpiece in our RV. I love the squash that looks like a swan! I always got my Fall decorations there.
If you are ever in Woodland, WA during October....you have to visit The Patch
They have tons and tons of pumpkins of every size and lots of varieties of squash and home made items. They have hay rides (they did 1,000 hay rides in one day last week) and other fun things for kids and adult, too, to do.
Then, it came time to say goodbye till next time. We had a wonderful stay there and hope to be able to return next Fall!!
We left WA on October 3rd and headed to OR to visit family and friends. We have been staying in the driveway at our friends' house. We have gotten to know some of their neighbors and have enjoyed our time here.
Since we arrived, we have been going non stop....getting ready for yet another yard sale. This time it was for 3 days. We emptied out the storage shed of all the things we were willing to part with and some we weren't :-) We had everything priced cheap! We decided that a lot of the items that didn't sell, we would give away or donate to a local charity's rummage sale.
We worked hard for 3-4 days getting set up. The first day of the sale was cold and blustery but we had a few hardly souls.
The second day was better, it turned off sunny and warmer. Sunday, was the best day for weather but we didn't have near as many people. That's OK, for the time of year and the weather, I think we did OK.
We have spent the last couple of days boxing everything up. We took a truck load of items to the Highland Baptist Church for a rummage sale for Beulah's place and took some other items to storage. Eventually, we'll not have a storage shed but for now, it seems it's a necessity.
Our paperwork finally arrived so that we could take the 5th wheel up and get it licensed and registered. They had told us, when we left for Indiana, back in May, that after we took possession our our RV, we had to come back in OR so that they could actually SEE the VIN number, in person, on our 5th wheel.
Well, they never came out of the building to look at anything. :-(
Now, we are busy going through more boxes, keeping the stuff that we actually need in our 5th wheel and either giving away or donating what we won't be needing. There are things that we just can't make a decision on, right now, so we are going to get a smaller storage shed and deal with all of that next spring when we return. :-) Another yard sale?
We signed up for 5 jobs with Volunteer Christian Builders down in TX and LA for the Fall/Winter months.
We hope to be back on the road before the end of October and I'll update you then.
Happy Fall Y'all!!! (practicing for TX ;-)
Hugs,
Char
