Still hanging out here at camp
Well, we are still here, at the camp, and are enjoying our stay!! (well, except for the thunderstorms). Today, though, it's clear blue skies and 71 degrees.
When there were more people here, the Wi Fi was touch and go so I wasn't able to get online for a long enough time, so that I could update my blog.
And, to be totally honest...we haven't done anything really all that exciting or interesting to share!
The staff here are just wonderful!!! They wave and say HI as they drive past in their ATV's and golf carts or when they see you walk into the dining hall or office. And, they are so willing to help you out if you have a question or need something.
Oh how I wish I could have a big stamping retreat here.....this place is just such a wonderful campground and the couples/family cabins are places that I could actually LIVE....they are so nice. The dorms are nice, too, with like 8-10 sets of bunk beds and showers and bathrooms. Here is one cabin they were working on...and are still needing to get the bunk beds that they have built, installed. Love, love, love all the wood that is used in the different cabins, lodges and the cabins for the boys and girls and the church. A lot of the wood comes right off their property and they have someone get it ready to use it for the insides of their buildings.
I didn't get a great photo of the Tabernacle (church) but the floors are gorgeous as are the walls. It was a quick tour given to me by one of the volunteer staff that comes to work in between other jobs...and she took me on a tour and showed me the insides of a lot of the buildings. So much has been done by not only the crew here but also the volunteers like VCB and TBM that come for 2-3 weeks at a time different times of the year to help out where ever they can.
The VCBers have all left for other jobs and some have gone home to stay in between jobs. We'll be meeting up with some of them at the end of March.
David enjoys working with the staff and I try and help out the kitchen staff when I am down there, before and after lunch. I think David would stay here a lot longer if it were up to him.
We had a couple of days, here alone in the RV part of the camp, before the Texas Baptist Men, another organization, showed up with their 5th wheels and motor homes.
They are a friendly bunch as well. We were invited to come over to meet up with them in the Green House on Sunday evening (the green house is mostly used for meetings and where the ladies gather to sew or have devotions and other things). We went over and were welcomed with open arms.
We've had numerous thunderstorms while here and for anyone that knows me at all, those are NOT my favorite thing!! But, even Annie doesn't mind them....and she normally shakes and hides when we had them in Oregon. Now, she sleeps right through them.

But, after wards....what a mess. Thankfully, it only takes a day or so and it's all dried up again.
Well, that's enough for one day. While I have Wi Fi, I am going to try and get several blog posts written up.....there is just so much going on here at the camp......they have another group coming in this weekend....a retreat or something.
Anyway....till next time!!!
