Our newest adventure!!

Well, here we are!!!  We have been at our present location for a little over a month and a half.  We both have been busy learning our new 'jobs'.

We are Workamping at an RV park on the Columbia River in Washington state.

I am learning the reservation system in the office and David is doing maintenance work and helping keep the park beautiful!!

I have to say, this is one of the nicest RV parks we have stayed at.  It may not be a resort and have a lot of activities like some do, which doesn't bother me...but it is QUIET and the view is fantastic!!!

We see ships going up and down the River every day and I still get excited when one goes by.

And, yes, they are that close.
 That is one HUGE ship!!!
 One of my favorite spots to sit when I am not working, to watch the ships.

Love to see the Riverboat go by several times a week.

And, I even caught a double rainbow, a week after we arrived, when we were having coffee with some new friends at McDonald's

So much more to share, but I'll save it for other days.   For now, we are still 'settling' in and we just made a trip to Central OR and brought our 'stuff' from our storage shed to a storage shed closer to us so that we can still 'downsize'.

It's a long process.......but we'll eventually be storage 'shed-less' :-)

OH and I finally have my 'craft room' pretty much done...and will share how I store my craft supplies, if anyone is interested.

A Memorial to our wonderful Annie!!

I haven't posted since November and some of you know the reason why, but for the rest of you....... On December 7th, we lost our beautiful Annie.  I still have a hard time talking about it, without choking up.  She was truly a gift from Heaven to us. I posted on Facebook but I just couldn't talk about her in person, without crying, and after almost a month, still have a hard time. But, since she was such a trooper and started the RV life with us at 12 years old and put up with travelling all over the US,  I thought she deserved to be honored in a blog post.   Please feel free to just move on if you aren't a dog lover, I'll understand. So here's to one of the best friends we've ever had.   I got to thinking that she traveled through 26 states with us during her lifetime of 16 3/4 years. She saw both oceans and walked and peed on a lot of different soil.  :-)     Annie as a pup in 2004.  She was a Mother's Day gift from our younger Son.

Crockett, Texas "Paradise in the Pines"

Crockett is about 40 miles from where we are staying at our current volunteer job with VCB.  We had gone there once to pick up a prescription and get a few groceries but didn't venture down to the actual town. I always have to look up the history of the town or what it’s known for or how it got it’s name….and of course things to do and see there.  Here is what I found: The town was named after David  Crockett  who reportedly had camped nearby on his way to the Alamo; the site was very near the Old San Antonio Road. A family from Tennessee donated the land for the town and named it after  Crockett , whom they had previously known. We, also pass through Groveton, on our way to Crockett to get groceries.  A week or two ago, on our way to Crockett, we passed a field where they had some guys in civil war uniforms.    We didn’t know what was going on till we got home and I Googled it….and found out they were enacting the battle of blackjack grove.  If we had known about it,

It's a God Thing, for sure

Hello.....some of you may have been following me on my other blog, http://Pawsn2stamp.blogspot.com  and have asked that I do a travel blog. Some of you know the story or how we became interested in volunteering with VolunteerChristianBuilders.org  and that is what we are getting ready to do. The name of our blog depicts the very thing I said when I had been talking to a friend via e-mail and told her how we had been tossing the idea around for over a year and I was getting so frustrated because we couldn't decide what to do.....sell the house or stay.  We couldn't go do what we wanted if we didn't sell the house but on the other hand, I LOVED my home.  So, one day, I told her "I am so frustrated, with the back and forth, back and forth trying to decide whether to do it or not, I guess someone is just going to have to knock on my door and ask if we want to sell the house and I'll know it's from God"  Well, not even 20 minutes later, the doorbell rang
