Long time no post!!!

Just my weird sense of humor!!   I saw this online, somewhere, and decided to print one off for the office.   It has received quite a few chuckles, hopefully the 'hint' will work.

I don't know why, but some people don't like to follow rules in an RV park and like I told the boss, this is a humorous way to remind them that this is one of the rules in any RV park.

Well, it's been 5 months since I updated this blog.  Where on earth does the time go?

We got here in September and are still here!! ;-)

In October, the park was dressed up for Halloween and I also made several trips to the Patch to get pumpkins, squash and just to visit!!

In October, we drove to Central OR and met our older Son there and he helped us load our U haul with the stuff from our shed we had there.  We went out for lunch and he headed back to the Eugene area and we headed back to WA to take our stuff to a storage shed near where we work.

After Thanksgiving, our younger Son flew out from Florida and visited us for a couple of days before heading to Central OR to visit with friends there.  While he was here, he took us out for our 50th anniversary.

Then, watched this bustling RV park settle down into it's Winter time mode.
But, in December when the Christmas ships come up the river, we were once again packed!!!!

The office was decked out with lights for the holiday season.

The 8th of December was the day we had waited for ......and everyone was excited.
OH WHAT FUN!!!!  Everyone gathers down at the Columbia River and there is a huge bonfire lit and we wait 'not so patiently'....lol....for the Christmas Ships to make their way up to just in front of the RV park and they circle around and around before they head back to Portland.

Sorry the photos aren't all that great.  It was hard to get good photos at night.

The 'show' lasted about an hour.

We had decorated early so we'd be in the holiday spirit when the ships showed up.  We noticed that the lights in the middle of the tree weren't working but oh well......it was kind of 'different' and we decided to leave it as is.

Annie decided she loved to lay right in front of the tree usually with her head almost in the Nativity.

Our Annie wearing her new rain coat.  We were tired of her being soaking wet after her walk down to the lawn where the dogs are allowed to do their business.  She doesn't enjoy the rain coat and we don't enjoy trying to get it on her but it sure saves her from getting soaked.   We didn't have to worry about all that in Central Oregon as she could just go out the door to our fenced yard.......now she needs something to keep herself dry.  What a fiasco getting her into it, though.  But, she looks so cute and it does a great job!!

Then, came New Year's Eve.  We got to have our oldest Granddaughter come and stay with us from Christmas Eve through New Year's.  What fun!!    We fixed some snacks to enjoy throughout the evening.

She brought hats for New Year's and we played games till bedtime.  I thought we'd do like we always do on New Year's Eve and watch the East Coast feed....but forgot that we didn't have an East Coast feed, anymore....and so at 8:30 when we turned on the TV to watch the ball drop.....there was still entertainment playing and we finally realized.....we were watching the East Coast ball drop....but during Pacific time.  So, we missed the ball dropping.   Oh well, it made it to the New Year without us.

Our first snow here at the park sometime in February!  And, boy, we aren't complaining....because the midwest has gotten brutal weather....but it's been colder than normal here.  Even for me!!

Some beautiful Tulips from my hubby for Valentine's Day.

A gorgeous sunset just a few nights ago!!

Our Granddaughter wasn't able to visit us in February but she had bought us a wonderful Valentine's surprise and she brought it with her when she came to visit just a couple of days ago!!!  What fun!!!

One of the other Workamper couples had to fly back to Indiana for a week, back in January and so we were asked if we would take care of this precious girl!!  She stayed in their RV but we visited her three times a day to feed and play with her so she wouldn't feel lonely.  What a sweetheart!!!

We get to take care of her again for a week, really soon.  She reminds us of our cat, Sassy, that we had at the ranch.

There was a lot more that happened this Fall/Winter but that's pretty much a digest of the events that occurred.

We've been trying to keep our RV warm, the last few nights, as we had a little scare the other night...when our CO alarm went off.  We aren't sure what caused it...but now our furnace isn't working and we aren't using our propane till the repairman can get here on Tuesday and inspect it.  But, Lola's Mommy and Daddy loaned us two small heaters and they help to keep it from getting unbearable in here.  :-)

Well, Annie is ready for bed.....and so am I!!

I'll try to update a lot sooner from now on!!!

Till next time!!

  1. You surely have been so busy! Nice to hear from you. The place you've been living looks wonderful and very "community" oriented. Those Christmas boats are so fun. When I lived up by Vancouver, WA, I would go down to the Columbia for many years, to watch the Christmas boats go up the river towards The Dalles. It's always just stunning to see them all! Take care... Marilyn
