LIFE CHANGES

It's been awhile since I last posted.  My last post was about my trip up the Reservoir in a Ranger boat.  That was a truly special day.

AND, then I got to go again, but this time we took care of the boat docks out in the reservoir.  That really opened my eyes as to what all the Rangers really do as part of being a Ranger.   It was actually a fun day cleaning off duck poop on the docks.  You'd have to know Ranger Michelle to know why it was FUN!!

Here we are at one of the 7-8 boat docks on the reservoir.  One part of the Ranger's job is to periodically use hoses to clean the duck poop off the docks.  I can't remember now, how often they do it, but you can imagine what a mess ducks make, so it's probably a weekly job.

GROSS duck poop......just imagine the rest of the dock.....blech!!!

I even got into the act and actually enjoyed doing it.  Probably because I was behind the hose and didn't have to actually touch the stuff..

Michelle used a pail while I used the fire hose.
Michelle and Cindy changing the plastic bags in the holder on the docks.

Ranger, Michelle, got a little overheated because it was a HOT day and she had a lot more things to do besides driving the boat.....so she cooled off a little.

That was in August and we had more fun adventures after that.  It was a wonderful job and I was so glad we were able to go and volunteer for the summer.

But,

Life has taken a few unexpected turns since them and we are no longer on the road workamping .

When we were up at Dworshak Dam, our dog Annie, had a very bad episode and almost died on us.  The Vet was able to help her recover and put her on meds but told us that she wouldn't have a long time left.  She turned 15 in May......and is now 15 1/2.  So, she made it longer than they initially thought.

Of course, that day changed a lot of things for her and us... as she wasn't able to go on long drives or be left alone for hours at a time.  So, we took turns coming back to the RV to check on her on the days we worked.  The Rangers were AWESOME to allow us to do that every day.

Then, David had some medical issues.   He wouldn't go to a Dr till we got back to our own Dr.  So, it was a stressful month and a half before we left ID and he finally went to our Dr.   The Dr. was concerned that it was cancer (and so were David and I) but tests all came back negative....Thank you, Lord!!!    The Dr. had no idea what caused his weight loss.

But, with that and our Annie not doing well....we made the difficult decision to park our RV and not keep going from job to job.   We are trying to decide just what the Lord wants us to do next.

Then, some friends asked us if we wanted to stay on their lot being their house through Winter or till we made up our minds what we were going to do for sure and we took them up on it.

We are happy to lend a hand doing what we can in exchange for a place to sit for awhile while we figure things out.

They even put down shavings, to keep the mud out of our RV and built a ramp to our RV so that even "I" can get Annie in and out.  Annie couldn't use her old ramp that we had used for two years with her sight not being what it was.

Then, David decided to look for a part time job...and was hired at Lowe's!!  He really likes it.   We don't know if the job will continue after the holidays so are not making any long term plans for now.

But, for the time being...we are sitting still...so we aren't doing any travelling.

I still have tons of photos to share and hope to share them in the near future.

I can't believe all the experiences we've had just in less than 3 years.  I can't imagine those that are out there for 10 years and longer.

Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!
